Tamsin Francesca is a fine jeweller who combines traditional goldsmithing with textile skills and miniature sculpture to create her own unique narrative.
“I am interested in the qualities of the metal I use, which is predominantly silver and gold. It’s amazing how far it can be pushed, and remain strong. I use many techniques, from casting to forging to crochet and lacemaking, always in solid precious metal. The wires I use for the textile work are 0.2mm so my tool box goes from a 0.6mm crochet hook to large saws (for a jeweller) and acid baths and fire – it’s a fun way to work!”
