Timepieces by their nature are functional, however my aim is to create a piece that possesses beauty and elegance and which will ultimately become a coveted family heirloom. Colour, texture and forms punctuated with precious gemstones are explored through my collections producing a crisp elegant feel to my work. I collaborate with a British company to make fine mechanical movements for my clocks and have developed my understanding of horology within silver and gold.
Classic cars continue to influence my designs and provide inspiration for new work. In 2019 I was honoured to receive a ‘Future Icons’ award for accessories at the Celebration of Craftsmanship and Design in Cheltenham for my latest ‘Square round’ mechanical clock. Louisa Pacifico, director of ‘Future Icons’ said of my clock, “Beautiful style, excellent making”.
Since the opening of the new ‘Louise Parry’ showroom and workshop in Cirencester, I have continued to enjoy designing innovative collections of both timepieces and jewellery, as well as working to commission. My work is now included in several important collections, including The Pearson Silver Collection, which is devoted to Post War British Silver.
