London-based jeweller Julia Lloyd George pursued her passion for jewellery from an early age. After completing her training at Sir John Cass School of Art in London, she apprenticed with a Hatton Garden manufacturer. At a time when there were few women in the trade, Julia learnt traditional craftsmanship at its highest level.
Initially, she designed for Garrard & Co, later producing collections for them under her own name. In 1985 she set up as an independent jewellery designer and manufacturer.
Julia’s strong distinctive style is eminently wearable. The designs are clean and simple, utterly contemporary yet with an ancient feel. Her love of coloured stones and her natural eye for setting these stones in the complementary coloured gold produces irresistible pieces. Using unpolished and hand finished gold to set cabochon stones, her pieces take on a tactile quality.
