Evgeniia Balashova is a Russian born jewellery designer and maker. Eve received traditional training in painting and drawing in Russia and continued her studies in metalwork at The Glasgow School of Art graduating in 2016. Eve’s work is a fusion of machine made and handmade – she makes jewellery that combines 3D printed nylon with precious metals. Inspired by repetitive patterns found in everyday life, she breathes in vibrancy and volume into simple geometric shapes using 3D modeling.
Eve explores the possibilities of 3D printed nylon, playing with scale, textures, tactile and kinetic qualities of the material. She uses traditional jewellery techniques to build precious metal elements around nylon, mutually bringing out the unique beauty of each material and creating visually captivating compositions and colour combinations.
