As a Chaser, Colette’s design aesthetic focuses primarily on surface decoration and how this changes our perception of an object as a whole. Often, through the nature of the technique, the pattern changes and distorts the original form; creating pieces that appear to have grown out of the formation of the pattern.

Her inspiration is drawn from the ornate and luxurious interior styles of the 18th and 19th centuries, with her most recent work exploring the exotic influences of Indian Mandala and Buta, or ‘Paisley’, designs that flooded in from the jewel of the Empire in the 1800’s.

By taking just a little of this visual cornucopia and combining it with more simplistic silhouettes, Colette creates timeless pieces for the modern table.
