As the painter paints the landscape, I carve wax pieces in situ in beautiful areas of natural beauty. Taking in detail from a different perspective. All my work is created outdoors and finished off in my workshop in Bristol. Each piece was born in a different area, from mountain summits to the cliffs of Cornwall. I hope to invoke a relationship between the wearer and the place that my jewellery was created, with distant and new memories experienced and remembered.
You will find that all of my jewellery is imagined in situ in these wonderful places, which means that I usually sculpt different shapes and textures, that one would not normally see from a workshop. All of my stones are set in an unconventional way which expresses more the landscape that I see.
Where was your piece born?
