I have been passionate about jewellery since I was a small child. I combine a number of traditional techniques, using recycled Gold in 18k with Pure and Sterling oxidised Silver, in order to create unusual textures and dramatic contrasts. Over recent years, I have been experimenting with computer design, 3D wax printing and single casting, as they enable me to create extremely sculptural and complex forms which I can incorporate into my pieces.
Stones, because of their colour, are at the centre of my designs; I am fascinated by the endless variety of combinations that can be created. Sourcing them in a sustainable way, working with local communities and dealers all over the world has opened my horizons and influenced my design philosophy and my creative ethos.
My pieces evolve playfully year by year, and reflect my various interests from Byzantine and Medieval art to modern architecture, fashion and abstract paintings.
My ambition is to create strong, contemporary statement pieces that will carry the memories of the people that wear them into future generations. My goal is that my pieces are instantly recognisable and reflect our era, yet still remain timeless and classic.
