Lois Lo was born and raised in Hong Kong and originally aspired to become a Product Designer. Influenced by woodwork, she wondered if her experience could be applied to metalwork, potentially transforming traditional stone-setting techniques. After falling in love with metal as a material, she began her studies for a Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design from Central Saint Martins, London, followed by a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art, London, in 2023. Recently awarded the Make It Award at Cockpit Arts, Lois continues to explore innovative stone-setting techniques. Her passion for machinery remains strong, and she skillfully combines modern technology, such as laser welding, with traditional Jewellery making techniques to create her distinctive wearable art.
