My work is inspired by the material itself. I begin each piece by engaging with the medium, letting it guide the process. I’m drawn to the act of creation and how an artist’s unique approach shapes their work. For me, it’s not just about perfection or the final result, but about the individuality of the process and the emotions that come with it. Often, a poetic feeling emerges, which I channel into my craft, and it’s in that moment of harmony that the piece comes to life.
The lines formed in the wax reflect my feelings at the time, making each piece unique. This method brings an element of surprise, and I pay special attention to the space inside the work, which in Japan is called “Ma.” I also enjoy how objects cast shadows – without shadows, the object might not really exist.
My aim is built on a commitment to preserving traditional Japanese craft techniques while adapting them to modern sensibilities. I focus on creating jewellery that is not only functional and timeless but also carries the spirit of the artisans who came before us. My model is driven by a blend of high-quality craftsmanship, storytelling, and education—offering products that reflect both heritage and contemporary appeal.
