Water is life : Water is beauty : Water has always been part of Karin’s life and vision.

Over her career, Karin has enjoyed allying her inspiration to a wealth of decorative techniques. These traditional techniques have been developed and adapted to bring the inspiration to life. Keumbo, Silver and Gold Mokume-Gane, forging and a general ‘off the wall’ attitude to making. Making entirely by hand completes the artistic process.

‘Sea Foam’ brings the energy of stormy waves to a collection of jewellery inspired by our wonderful coastal landscape.

‘Curling Wave’ which is born of the frothing, curling tops of waves as they surge in towards the shore. Anticlastic raising and reticulation are used to sculpt individual and unique pieces.

‘GeoAqua’ is a long time favourite collection inspired by the rushing waters of the Peak District. Waters spiral through the rocks capturing pebbles as it surges, giving an unpredictable and unique nature to her bangles, rings, necklaces and earrings. Forging techniques shape the twisting forms and granulations gather in the eddies.

Many of her pieces have individual titles as a painter or sculptor entitles their unique view on a subject. Training within Sheffield School of Art, with many disciplines to inform her development, she found that her place in an artistic life was assured.

Karin enjoys exhibiting face to face at Art Fairs and speaking to visitors is in itself inspiring.
