My signature collections are heavily influenced by a Bauhaus aesthetic, with its clean, minimalist lines and strong geometric shapes. When making, I play with balance and form, setting gemstones off-centre and combining metals of different hues to create sculptural timeless pieces that are effortlessly elegant to wear. My precise, considered approach to design stems from the rigorous training I received during a four-year apprenticeship in my native Germany. I honed my skills under master goldsmith and stone setter Eberhard Mach, where I mastered the technique of micro pavé stone setting.
This combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology guarantees that each piece of jewellery is designed and finished to an exacting standard. Clasps and brooch backs are given as much care and attention as the part on display. I delight in designing hidden surprises into my work: a cluster of miniature diamonds set into the back of a brooch, or nestling on the under-side of a ring shank.
Working with only the finest materials, I hand craft each piece, from initial design to finished jewellery, in my East Dulwich atelier and showroom. I am happy to take on bespoke commissions, including engagement and wedding rings, and work closely with clients to realise their desired piece of jewellery. My work combines age-old goldsmithing techniques – forging, soldering, saw piercing and engraving – with modern technology like laser welding and 3D printing.
Most pieces of jewellery start life as a 6mm bar of square metal, which is then rolled and forged into the desired shape. I am highly skilled in micro pavé stone setting, a technique that uses a microscope to meticulously hand set individual diamonds and gemstones into regular patterns. This combination of traditional craftsmanship with modern technology means that each piece is hand made to an exacting standard.
